Target customers of Airport Rail Link (ARL)

Officially launched in December 2010, Airport Rail Link (ARL) is the latest railway project of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT). In present, the project provides transportation service with 8 stations; from Suvarnabhumi International Airport to Phaya Thai, a district located in the heart of Bangkok.

In addition, ARL route extension has been planned by SRT: one to the northern of Bangkok, Don Mueang International Airport station, and another direction toward the Eastern U-Tapao International Airport in Rayong province.

The research indicates that the majority of ARL customer has an average monthly household income at 60,000 baht or more, which is considered as a potential target of advertising media and commercial spaces. Another large group is foreign customer; expatriates and tourists who have high purchasing power.

Characteristics of ARL Customers

• Majority of ARL customers are inhabitants of suburban areas nearby Bangkok, who travels to downtown on a daily basis. Another large group is foreign customers; expatriates and tourists who have high purchasing power.

• Most ARL customers has an average monthly household income of 60,000 baht or more, which is considered as a potential buyer.

• Students share the majority of ARL customers because 4 universities and another college are situated close to the ARL route.

• Research shows that there are more female customers than male; female at 58% when male at 42% approximately
